We are hiring a Clinical Nurse Specialist- Diabetesin a Private Hospital in Cork Responsibilities Directs and coordinates the daily patient care operations of the unit. Work within the code of Professional Conduct for Nurses, participating in the implementation of the Scope of Practice framework. Demonstrates the ability to care competently for an assigned group of patients, serving as a role model for team collaboration and quality patient care Follow-up management of Diabetes patients post-discharge. Support clinical nurse managers and staff nurses in providing optimum patient care and meeting the teaching needs of staff and student nurses. Promotion of person-centered care, especially when dealing with patients and families. Coordination of Outpatient clinics. Ensure adherence to all Hospital policies with special emphasis on risk. Ensure that the dignity of patients and staff is assured and maintained at all times, having regard to the ethics, philosophy and Mission of the hospital. Together with the Nurse Practice Development Co-ordinator, be involved in identifying opportunities for development of nursing services that will improve the care of patients Encourage recognition of the patient as an individual ensuring that the patient’s needs are met through application of a systematic approach to nursing. Requirements Enrolled in the General Division of the NMBI's live nurse registry A minimum of 5 years post-registration experience in an acute general A Postgraduate in Diabetes would be a distinct advantage Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills. Must possess strong communication skills and clinical skills.
