Job Description
Cloud Data Technologies (CDT) team at e Bay is responsible for all the data infrastructure and management of end‑to‑end data lifecycle for all e Bay data from onsite to analytics use cases.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to help us develop e Bay’s experimentation and feature flag platform.
What you will do and learn
Implement the distributed platform with macro‑services for e Bay’s feature flag and experimentation working through the entire stack from UI to the backend
Contribute to long‑term architecture through design reviews, ensuring scalability and resilience.
Enhance and support the system with low latency, high throughput and scalability requirements using multiple technologies such as Node JS and Java.
Drive operational excellence for services you own, including observability and incident response.
Collaborate with data scientists, domain business customers, and other engineering teams to define and refine product requirements and tech solutions.
What you bring
Full‑stack development skills including data manipulation
Frontend - HTML/CSS, React
Backend - Java, Type Script
Experience on designing large‑scale distributed systems (compute, storage, APIs).
Ability to independently deliver complex projects from requirements to production.
Systems thinker who anticipates bottlenecks, schema evolution, and reliability issues.
Strong communication skills to influence cross‑team technical outcomes.
Growth mindset with curiosity to learn and apply new technologies.
Qualifications
2+ years of distributed systems or data platform experience
Proven ability to design and deliver critical systems with impact.
Experience with databases, Spring Boot, React JS or similar technologies
Experience of designing and developing large‑scale software applications using Object‑Oriented Design and JVM languages (Java, Scala)
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, SQL, Python, Typescript and Node JS.
Knowledge of A/B Testing or feature flag.
Bachelor or MS degree in Computer Science or related field
