Hays has been retained to recruit a Civil Engineer to work with our client, a well-known, Cork-based Engineering Consultancy with an office based in Little Island.


Your new role

The successful candidate will oversee the design of roads and bridges across a multitude of different projects. Responsibilities include:

  • Lead a team of 2/3 technicians and junior engineers on large projects.
  • Oversee the design of roads and bridges.
  • Attend client meetings and offer technical expertise to stakeholders.
  • Manage projects from conception to handover.
  • Assist in undertaking PSDP duties.
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external parties, including clients and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members.

  • What you'll need to succeed

  • 3 to 4 years of experience in a role focused on roads or bridges in the Irish Construction Industry.

  • Extensive knowledge of Uisce Eireann Codes of Practice, surface water drainage and building regulations.

  • Project Management experience is a plus.

  • Good communicator with strong motivation to succeed.

  • Site visits are required for this role and, as such, a clean driving licence and access to a vehicle are paramount.

  • What you'll get in return

  • Salary: €60,000 to €70,000
