Cyber Security Engineer
Dublin | Hybrid (2 days onsite)
€40-65k with benefits (DOE)
We are currently assisting a client in a search for a Cyber Security Engineer to join a growing security function supporting cloud-based insurance technology used by leading global providers.
This is a hands-on security role for someone technical, curious, and eager to grow across all areas of security including, appsec, cloud, vulnerability, operations and engineering.
You’ll work across vulnerability management, security tooling, threat analysis, and secure development - partnering closely with engineering, Dev Ops, and infrastructure teams to investigate issues, improve controls, and drive practical security improvements.
This is a strong fit for someone from a software, infrastructure, or Dev Ops background looking to specialise in security.
What you’ll do Investigate vulnerabilities and work with technical teams to drive remediation
Support security projects across App Sec, cloud, and endpoint hardening
Help implement and improve tooling across areas like DAST, monitoring, and vulnerability management
Partner with developers and engineers on secure design, risk reduction, and technical controls
Support threat modelling, security reviews, and technical security initiatives across the SDLC
Work across Microsoft and cloud environments including Azure, Entra ID, and Intune
What they’re looking for Technical background in software, Dev Ops, infrastructure, or security engineering ideally 2-5 years
Strong understanding of how modern applications and cloud environments work
Strong knowledge of cloud security (Azure), IAM, Zero‑Trust.
Experience with SIEM/SOAR and vulnerability management.
Knowledge of SCA/SAST/DAST tools and secure coding.
Ability to speak with developers, challenge assumptions, and solve technical problems
Scripting, automation, or development exposure (Java knowledge a plus)
Curious mindset, strong logic, and willingness to learn across multiple security domains
