Role Purpose
To provide environmental support to utility projects, ensuring compliance with Irish and EU environmental legislation, company procedures, and ISO 14001, while promoting good environmental practice on site.
Key Responsibilities
Provide environmental advice and support to project and operational teams.
Support compliance with Irish and EU environmental legislation, permits and planning conditions.
Assist with implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001 and company EMS.
Prepare, implement and monitor Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs).
Support environmental risk assessments for HV underground, substation and utility works.
Monitor contractor environmental performance through site inspections and audits.
Support environmental aspects of permitting and consenting (EIA/AA, waste, water, discharges).
Assist with incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions.
Maintain environmental records, monitoring data and reports (waste, noise, water, air).
Deliver environmental inductions, toolbox talks and awareness training.
Promote sustainability and good environmental practice on projects.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
Degree (Level 8) in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Ecology or related discipline.
Working knowledge of Irish and EU environmental legislation.
Understanding of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
Experience in a construction, utilities or infrastructure environment.
Strong communication and reporting skills.
Full driving licence and willingness to travel.
Desirable
Membership of IEMA or similar professional body (or working towards).
Experience with CEMPs and contractor environmental management.
Health & Safety awareness/training for construction environments.
