Job Description
Main Responsibilities:
To assist Eurofins in maintaining a high standard in medical testing.
Provide support to clients and colleagues to ensure a first-class service.
To maintain and enhance their professional knowledge and skills as required.
Work with colleagues to contribute towards the continuous improvement of the department.
Demonstrate behaviour consistent with the mission and values of Eurofins.
Assist in the organisation of workload, prioritising tasks to ensure the effective running of the department.
Observe the strictest confidence when dealing with all aspects of patient and Company information.
Specific Tasks:
Be aware and compliant with all the documentation related to your Department to include – Training Records, SOP’s, Forms, including reading and acknowledging required documents on QPulse.
Be the finance lead for the Irish Clinical Diagnostics division working closely with the Managing Director and the local senior management team.
Responsible for all monthly and quarterly Group financial reporting of the division and its business units, explaining main variances in P&L, Net working capital, Capex and all other relevant financial matters.
Work closely with leaders in the business units to achieve budget objectives by maximising opportunities and managing costs.
Provide analysis on deviations between actuals and budgets, challenge the business leaders to bridge gaps and monitor the action plans taken.
Make ad-hoc financial analysis for the division leader and the Group management.
Strong oversight in the budget process of the division and in particular be fully responsible for the coordination of the budget process and the forecasting exercises.
Improve, simplify, standardize and/or automate management information, reporting and KPI’s.
Support the coordination & implementation of Group’s Finance policies & procedures.
Ad hoc project management, including those supporting the Group’s controlling activities.
Leadership and Accountability
Develop a shared sense of commitment and participation among staff.
Contribute to the strategic and development planning of the wider organisation.
Liaise closely with internal and external service users to ensure effective and efficient utilisation of available resources.
Maintain good collaborative working relationships and communications with suppliers.
Personnel Management
Ensure the optimum and effective use of staff through efficient rostering, skill/grade mix planning, workload measurement and staff development.
Ensure all leave/absences for staff in the laboratories are arranged in conjunction with other staff such that back-up and cover is available at all times.
In conjunction with HR, ensure processes supporting staff development and individual performance management exist.
Foster a high level of camaraderie and morale among staff by effective motivation and communication.
In conjunction with HR, ensure effective processes exist and are adhered to for the recruitment, selection and appointment of laboratory staff.
Participate in the formulation of relevant personnel policies and procedures with HR and deal with personnel problems, and, if necessary, in accordance with the company’s disciplinary and grievance procedures.
Promote and maintain a safe environment for all staff.
Develop and implement Risk Management and Health & Safety strategies in consultation with appropriate personnel.
Performance Management
Establish, produce and monitor KPI reports/performance on a monthly basis.
In conjunction with the senior management team and HR, play a key role in the development and promotion of an effective performance management system within the company.
Develop Action Plans to address non-attainment of KPI targets.
Education
Ensure that appropriate continuing professional development programmes and ongoing learning needs are realised for all relevant staff.
Qualifications
Education:
ACA or ACCA qualification
Experience:
At least 5 years work experience as a Head of Finance/Finance Director role and senior leadership experience with an international Group would be desirable.
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to identify and implement business/financial processes to the standard of best practice in order to optimise use of resources.
Proven ability to work and deliver services within agreed budgets.
Encourages personnel towards professional growth and development by sharing information.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Must be a team-player.
Effective verbal & written communication skills, enabling efficient business interaction and communication to employees at all levels.
Attention to detail, and the ability to carry out activity with discretion & confidentiality.
