Position description Group Sourcing (GS) is operating in an exciting and dynamic environment which provides an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to gain knowledge and expand their career in Procurement.
The role of the Buyer is to assist clients across the ESB Group in procuring goods and services between €5k-€300k, achieving best value for money, while ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, internal procedures and the code of ethics for the governance of state bodies.
Key Responsibilities Manage tenders and quick quote processes including the tender evaluation process in conjunction with the business and in line with ESB Procedures Manage commercial negotiations and debriefings of unsuccessful tenderers Develop close working relationship with internal customers Evaluate spend outside of Framework Agreements for inclusion in existing or for the creation of new Framework Agreements Supplier identification & sourcing Supplier relationship management Identifying areas for process improvement Experience and Qualifications Essential High levels of commitment, judgement and interpersonal skills are required for the role Excellent communication skills Work experience in a business environment An excellent working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and Share Point Desirable Experience and knowledge of Procurement A professional qualification in finance, business or procurement is desirable but not essential.  If required, the successful candidate must be prepared to undertake a qualification in Procurement.
Knowledge of ESB's organisation structure and Group Procurement procedures A willingness to commit to internal and external training as required Location This position is based in ESB's Head Office, F27 but travel to Power Station locations, predominantly near Derry in Northern Ireland as required, is a key requirement of the role.

The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least one anchor day per week.
