About the Role:
We are looking for a hands‑on, detail‑oriented Hardware Engineer to join our growing team of over 150 professionals. The ideal candidate will have practical experience maintaining and repairing desktop PCs and laptops, with knowledge of enterprise hardware considered a strong advantage.
Well developed communication and customer‑facing skills are an essential part of the role, which is well suited to a fast‑learning and creative individual who is equally comfortable as part of a team or working independently on their own initiative.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with physical hardware and wants to develop their technical skillset further – role‑specific training will be provided to the successful candidate, with numerous opportunities for further growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, diagnose, and repair multi‑vendor devices such as PCs, laptops and printers.
Install, configure and diagnose network devices such as routers, switches and hubs.
Install, configure and diagnose Po S devices such as Chip & Pin units and printers.
Install, configure and diagnose AV devices such as multimedia displays and satellite systems.
Assist in hardware deployments, upgrades, and imaging of devices.
Perform basic OS installation and configuration tasks.
Act as part of an On‑Call team.
Requirements:
Practical experience of PC & laptop repair and maintenance.
Practical experience of working independently and on own initiative.
Good understanding of hardware technology and components.
Good attention to detail and methodical approach to problem‑solving.
Solid ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues.
Solid understanding of basic computer networking and operating system concepts.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Excellent customer‑facing skills and fluent spoken English.
Full, clean EU or UK driving licence.
Practical experience of Deskside Support roles and apps such as Microsoft 365.
Practical experience of Enterprise hardware such as servers or tape libraries.
Familiarity with Enterprise concepts & terminology such as RAID or hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI).
IT certifications such as Comp TIA A+, Network+, or equivalent.
3rd level qualifications such BSc Information Technology, or equivalent.
