Base Location: Leeds, Perth, Glasgow or Dublin Salary: £44,100 - £66,100 + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing. Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available SSE's Thermal Engineering & Asset Management team provides Asset Integrity, Technical Assurance and Technical Authority roles across a broad range of Power Plant and Gas Storage Sites balancing risk, cost and performance and is looking to recruit a Rotating Equipment Engineer who will be responsible for Gas Turbine Engineering including: - Managing asset integrity for a wide range of rotating equipment through the corporate governance role inc. completing root cause analysis, assessing damaged components, compiling safety cases, and ensuring compliance with standards and legislation. - Technical Assurance through delivering robust Engineering solutions for Rotating Plant high consequent assets and associated outage coordination activities. - Technical Authority for large capital thermal new build projects (inc. development of CCS & Hydrogen combustion ventures); the role will require key interaction with design, quality and construction activities. What do I need? To be considered for the role, we would prefer you to have: - Degree qualified engineer or equivalent and working towards Chartered Engineer status within a professional institution. - A working knowledge of the legislation, design standards and industry good practice for rotating plant machinery (Gas Turbines & combustion systems). - Desirably have working knowledge of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and gas turbine hydrogen technologies. - Experienced in gas and steam turbine overhauls, component repair, combustion, operation, legislation, design standards and industry good practice. - Experience with the development of technical and engineering solutions to add value and mitigate risks. For this role you must have a full, current driving license as trips to operational sites are required. What's in it for you?
