Now, we’re looking for an Inventory Control Manager to join our team, with responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Inventory and Driver Check In (DCI) functions. This role will play a key part in the overall growth of the organisation, take responsibility for all aspects of inventory accuracy and compliance, always thinking about continuous improvement. Along with helping to maintain our core ethos here are Sysco – keeping the customer at the heart of everything we do Key Accountabilities: Reporting to the Financial Controller the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: · The regular review and updating of processes with a view to ensuring the team is working as efficiently and productively as possible · Put in place a catalogue of Standard Operating Procedures for all Inventory and DCI Team processes and responsibilities. · Develop a robust new colleague onboarding plan and existing colleague training and development plans for Inventory and DCI team members and ensure delivery of same · Identify and implement KPI metrics and targets from which individual team members and overall team performance is measured and managed accordingly · Ensure team is resourced appropriately as per business requirements · To maximise the performance of the Inventory and DCI function at every opportunity · Strive to harness Sysco’s technological resources and ensure all practices are in line with our sustainable goals · Develop suite of reports for circulation to senior management on a weekly basis · Track root cause of inventory issues and work closely with Operations Management to implement and track effectiveness of corrective actions · Highlights issues regarding inventory losses and works with key stakeholders to implement solutions to address these. · Lead and participate in ad hoc projects as required · Member of the Senior Inventory Management Team · Other duties as assigned by the Senior Inventory Management Team Requirements: · 5 years + inventory control experience in food distribution · 5 years + supervisory experience overseeing large teams · Third level qualification or certification in a related discipline advantageous A strong communicator who leads from the front Commercially minded and results driven Ability to influence across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders with proven ability to challenge the status quo Competent in breaking down a problem, understand the root cause and work with relevant stakeholders on developing and implementing a solution A natural self-starter with strong time management skills, proven commitment to attendance, punctuality and health and Safety in the workplace · Capable of working collaboratively with peers and colleagues from other departments on a daily basis Experience using a warehouse management system and strong Excel skills is a must Strong knowledge of all applicable industry regulations Excellent organisational skills, people skills and motivation & interpersonal skills · Leads by example – This is a key Operations Role and is flexible and willing to work adjust working week to meet business requirements Core Competencies: · Understanding your customers – acts as a role model in personal approach to internal and external customer goals.
