What you will be doing We're looking for a Senior AML & Compliance Assurance Associate to play a key role in strengthening our financial crime framework and supporting the delivery of our global compliance assurance and testing programme. Reporting to the UK Head of Compliance and MLRO, this is a hands-on role focused primarily on AML and suspicious activity reporting (SAR), with additional responsibilities across assurance and regulatory oversight. You'll work closely with country compliance officers and stakeholders across multiple time zones to help ensure Ramp meets the highest standards of integrity and regulatory compliance. What you will be working on Supporting the UK Head of Compliance and MLRO in managing AML processes, including transaction monitoring, investigation, and suspicious activity reporting (SARs). Conducting reviews and testing of financial crime controls to assess their effectiveness and identify areas for enhancement. Assisting in the execution of the compliance assurance and testing plan, including sample testing and issue management. Providing clear communication of findings, recommendations, and tracking remediation through to completion. Supporting key stakeholders across Financial Crime Operations, Customer Support, Product, and Technology to ensure consistent application of AML and compliance standards. Contributing to horizon scanning to identify emerging AML and regulatory risks, trends, and upcoming changes that may impact Ramp's operations. Ensuring AML, compliance assurance, and external audit findings are reported to the appropriate governance structures in an accurate and timely manner. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with regulators, industry peers, and professional networks to stay informed of evolving requirements. Acting as an active member of Ramp's compliance and industry associations, helping represent the company's voice in relevant forums. What you will bring Experience in the second line of defence (2 LOD) within AML or financial crime compliance at a regulated financial institution, fintech, or consultancy. Strong knowledge of AML regulations, suspicious activity reporting, and financial crime frameworks, ideally within the context of UK and FCA-registered cryptoasset businesses. Some experience or exposure to compliance assurance, testing, or internal audit activities. Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data to identify risks and drive corrective action. Highly collaborative and effective at working across cross-functional teams. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and project management capabilities. Data analytics proficiency (SQL or similar tools is a plus). Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage given Ramp's global presence. Genuine enthusiasm for fintech, crypto, and the evolving regulatory landscape. A proactive, adaptable mindset and willingness to engage in continuous learning. Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
