The Role The Warehouse Network Capacity Planner is a key position within the Warehouse & Logistics Team that supports the Network Optimisation strategy for Ornua to ensure product is effectively and efficiently stored and moved through the value chain to our end customers. This key position requires a candidate with strong experience in distribution network modelling and planning, data analytics, and continuous improvement. An advantage to complement this experience would be familiarity with Integrated Business Planning and Project Management practices. Reporting to the Warehouse & Logistics Manager, the Logistics Planner will be responsible for developing the long-term distribution network and storage capacity plan to adequately service volumes, spanning Ireland, UK, Netherlands, and the US. In collaboration with key stakeholders across the business, the successful candidate will determine the optimal placement and storage of Ornua product across our warehouse network, to allow for a cost effective and efficient movement of product through the value chain. Key Areas of Responsibility Accountable for gathering input data from Commercial, Product Procurement, Corporate Procurement and Supply Chain Operations to define and develop the most optimal long term distribution network and storage capacity plan. Apply a mindset of cost avoidance and cost effectiveness as part of modelling and developing the distribution network plan. Considers our members and their storage capacity requirements. Collaborate with Product Procurement to find a “win win” outcome that delivers value and efficiency for both parties. The distribution network plan must consider inbound and outbound freight profiles and associated costs to optimize efficiency and value for our end customers. Strong functional and process knowledge of MRP and how to effectively utilize this tool to foster a robust understanding of our storage requirements. Proactively manages the ongoing development and understanding of global s and warehouse industry in the markets we operate in. Active participation in the monthly S&OP and Supply Review meetings to share current status of the storage capacity plan and if any deviation risks. Inform and provide recommendations and/or proposals to mitigate risks where appropriate. Develop and manage the implementation and delivery of the monthly performance dashboards. Key requirements: Experience in distribution network modelling and planning (Min 3 years’ experience). Excellent data analysis skills and proficient in Microsoft applications particularly Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Visio. Experience with managing a diverse group of stakeholders. Skilled in negotiation with an ability to influence. Demonstrates obvious commercial and financial awareness. Track record of working under own initiative and problem solving. Due to the nature of our business and global customers, this role may require national and international travel from time to time.
