The role


Continuous development and implementation of the Finance vision and its short-term and long-term objectives in line with the European strategy.

Owns the end-to-end Finance operating model, including principles, delivery and evolution of the operating model, and the overall view of Finance processes and technology roadmap.

Provides oversight on all Finance change projects, including ownership of the end-to-end change governance framework, adherence to change governance oversight of operational readiness activities.

In partnership with the Head of Financial Reporting and (equivalent role in Actuarial function), co-ordinates reporting processes, develop plans to achieve more efficient reporting cycles supporting financial control and reporting activities.

Ensures appropriate governance structures are in place for managing outsourced services and manage the supplier relationships for Finance, primarily the UK finance shared services function which provides core accounting and actuarial activities.

Ensures compliance with, and maintain, the risk framework, policies and standards, identify and manage operational risks.

Lead and co-ordinate the Financial People Plan in partnership with the aligned HR Business Partners including identification of people priorities and developing and implementing supporting activities.

Drive a continuous performance improvement culture encouraging innovation and growth.

Manage relationships and work collaboratively with senior leaders across the European Business and the wider Group teams.

What are we looking for?

Coaching and influencing senior stakeholders, typically at Executive level, with diverse and competing agendas and aligning thinking to ensure efficient and effective Finance services.

Continually seeking to bring the 'outside in' and use external insight to shape the strategic and operational priorities, as well as the operating model of the business.

Managing change - ensuring improvements are customer driven, taking account of corporate and divisional strategies, identifying, initiating, planning and implementing change.

Managing priorities and planning the most effective use of resource when there are conflicting demands on resource.

Understands the complexities of operational processes and strategic objectives across the Group and effectively communicates complex information to a wide group of senior stakeholders.

This role has been identified as CF-2under the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fitness & Probity regime. The successful candidate will be required to comply with the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fitness and Probity Standards on an ongoing basis. Knowledge, Skill, Experience-

Member of a recognised accounting or actuarial body.

Experience in leading finance operations, ideally within the insurance industry but not essential, at a senior level.

A track record of delivering programmes of change, performance improvement and operational efficiency.

Proven financial governance and oversight capability.

Strong stakeholder management and experience of working in large group environments.

Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.

A keen interest in the finance function of the future, experience of relevant technology and data infrastructure underpinning this.
