M Hospitality Recruitment are searching for a General Manager (GM) for a luxury Resort hotel in the Dublin area responsible for the property's strategic direction, commercial success, and the delivery of 5-star service standards.
We are welcoming candidates with European Visas/ passport holders at this time.
Core Responsibilities
As General Manager of this Resort you will hold full executive responsibility for the strategic, operational, and financial leadership of the Resort and Estate.
You will act as custodian of a historic and prestigious Irish estate, driving commercial performance, protecting and enhancing the asset value of the property, and positioning the property as a market leader within Ireland’s luxury hospitality and events sector.
The role requires a commercially astute, visible and inspiring leader who can balance heritage stewardship with modern business strategy, ensuring sustainable profitability, exceptional guest experiences, and a high-performance culture across all departments.
Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic business plan aligned with the Board’s vision, ensuring long-term growth, asset enhancement, and brand positioning of the Resort.
Identify and pursue new revenue streams, partnerships, and market opportunities that strengthen the Resort’s competitive positioning.
Contribute to the long-term master planning and development of the Estate and associated lands, working closely with the Board on expansion, refurbishment and capital investment initiatives.
Hold full accountability for the Resort’s financial performance, including revenue growth, profitability, EBITDA delivery, and cost control.
Collaborate with the Finance Director in the preparation of annual operating budgets, capital expenditure plans, and rolling forecasts.
Review monthly management accounts, analyse performance trends, and implement corrective or growth-focused strategies as required.
Establish, monitor and drive clearly defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across all departments.
Lead sales, events and marketing strategy, ensuring targeted segmentation, strong corporate relationships, and sustained pipeline development across weddings, golf, corporate and leisure markets.
Actively participate in key sales activity including major client meetings, negotiations, show‑arounds and industry representation.
Operational Excellence
Ensure the seamless and efficient operation of all Resort departments, maintaining the highest standards of service delivery and product quality.
Maintain a visible and engaged leadership presence across the Estate, setting the tone for excellence and accountability.
Implement systems, controls and governance frameworks that ensure consistency, compliance and operational discipline.
Ensure robust quality assurance processes are in place, monitoring guest feedback and service metrics to drive continuous improvement.
People & Culture
Build, lead and inspire a high‑performing senior leadership team aligned with the Resort’s strategic objectives.
Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, collaboration and pride throughout the organisation, leading by example and embedding the Resort’s core values – CRAFT (Communication, Accountability, Respect, Fairness and Teamwork) – into daily operations, leadership behaviour’s and decision‑making.
Ensure structured performance management systems are in place, including regular reviews, succession planning and talent development.
Promote a positive and compliant working environment, ensuring all employment legislation and HR best practices are adhered to.
Lead regular communication forums to ensure alignment, transparency and engagement across the Resort.
Safeguard and enhance the physical asset of the property and its wider estate, ensuring preventative maintenance and capital planning are proactively managed.
Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, fire, environmental and statutory regulations.
Champion sustainability and environmental responsibility initiatives, improving operational efficiency and reducing environmental impact.
Ensure appropriate risk management systems are in place, including incident reporting, insurance engagement, and Board notification where required.
Governance & Board Reporting
Prepare and present comprehensive monthly performance reports to the Board of Directors.
Communicate proactively with the Board regarding financial performance, strategic initiatives, risk exposure, and major operational matters.
Provide informed recommendations to the Board on growth strategy, investment priorities, and operational improvements.
Industry & Community Engagement
Remain informed of developments and innovation within the hospitality, events and golf sectors, implementing best practice where appropriate.
Represent the Resort professionally within the local community, industry associations and charitable initiatives, enhancing the reputation.
