Head of IT PM *** Dublin Hybrid working *** 2 year contractOur client provides a range of asset and liability management services to the public sector and is looking to hire a Head of IT Project Management for their offices in Dublin. Role SummaryThe Head of IT Project Management will work closely with business units and corporate functions for business related projects, while also working on IT specific projects. In this regard, the role will work closely with key business stakeholders and senior IT managers and will act as a strategic advisor for large complex business projects. They will provide clear guidance on the prioritisation of IT projects for the organisation and will implement clear metrics of performance assessment for all projects. The role also provides leadership and guidance to coach, motivate and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development. Role Responsibilities Ensure effective project management and delivery of IT projects within constraints of time, quality and budget, and scope in support of the business activities. Management, development, and support of the IT Project Management team and PMO in the management, reporting and governance of IT projects across the organisation. Participate in planning and scoping IT Projects and PMO activities, facilitating end-to-end estimation and manage cross-team dependencies to ensure that project goals are measured and accomplished and are in-line with business objectives. Participation in the analysis, scope definition, planning, estimation, and implementation of business system solutions. Maintain and enhance policies and procedures relating to IT project management, project delivery and project governance. Develop, enhance and support project budget reporting in line with business area requirements. Assist IT Senior Management in the definition and operation of strategic resource management processes and procedures, including demand management. Establish and maintain project management and control standards, including effective stakeholder engagement in addition to management of project issues, risks and change. Manage relationships with business stakeholders in the provision of IT Project Management services. Ensure standardisation of project implementation methodology: determining the best blend (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall, etc.) while driving complex projects from concept to fully operational. Management of project reporting by Project Managers to Project Boards, Project Executives, and the Project Management office. Maintain IT Project Management staffing at appropriate levels in line with new and emerging business unit requirements through IT Project Management staff recruitment, development and retention. Experience Primary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or relevant industry experience and certification(s) Recognised formal Project Management qualification or certification in a formal project management methodology (e.g., Prince2, PMBOK, PMP or equivalent) Minimum of 8 years of project management experience, working across the entire project lifecycle of medium to large-scale projects, while working with cross functional teams Leadership experience in managing multiple, cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders Experience in use of formal project management methodology (Prince2 or equivalent) to manage project areas such as resources, budgets, risks, changes and process improvements Experience in Strategic Planning, Budgeting, People and Team Management Experience of working on Change Programmes in medium to large enterprises Software development lifecycle experience for the project management of in-house built software solutions If this role is of interest to you apply now or contact Christine McCarthy at Parker Stewart.
