Laboratory Manager Location: Cork Sector: Food / Healthcare / Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Type: Full-Time, Permanent Occupli Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Laboratory Manageron behalf of our client, a leading organisation in the food and healthcare manufacturing sector.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to lead both the Microbiology and Chemistry Laboratories, driving operational performance and ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage a team of Laboratory Technicians across microbiology and chemistry functions.
Plan and coordinate daily analytical workloads, ensuring timely delivery of accurate results in line with business needs.
Monitor performance against KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Optimise laboratory scheduling and resourcing to maximise efficiency and continuity.
Liaise closely with Quality and Operations teams to support production and quality objectives.
Promote a culture of development through coaching, training, and regular performance reviews.
Oversee proficiency testing, method validation, and laboratory infrastructure projects.
Maintain compliance with all relevant quality systems, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
Ensure data integrity and accuracy within LIMS and other digital systems.
Collaborate with HR and other departments on people management and operational matters.
Experience & Qualifications Minimum 2 years' experience in a laboratory management or supervisory role within the food, healthcare, or pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
Third-level qualification in Food Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
Strong understanding of quality and food safety legislation and best practices.
Demonstrated success in achieving operational KPIs and performance targets.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP and LIMS is highly desirable.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
