Role Purpose: The successful candidate will be part of the Group Legal team and will report to the Group Head of Legal based in Dublin, Ireland. The Legal Counsel will be responsible for advising Flutter in relation to commercial contracts, employment law, general legal queries; ensuring that Flutter always operates within the law; providing pragmatic and commercial legal advice that protects Flutter’s reputation, brands, customers, and shareholders; and facilitating the achievement of the Flutter Group's objectives and strategy. Primary Role: Provide legal advice and guidance to the internal stake holders primarily (not exclusive) to the domains of contracting, employment matters, intellectual property, disputes & litigation management. Role: Individual Contributor Reporting: Director Legal (Rational Services (India) LLP, also branded as Flutter Entertainment (India) LLP (“FEI”) Domain: Group Legal Broad Expectation of work: Draft, review, redlined, negotiate, and finalize documents (contracts, letters, proposals, RFPs, etc.) from a legal perspective, ensuring minimal or no risk to the organization. Should be well versed in drafting, vetting, interpreting, executing, and registering various legal documents related to IT, non-IT, purchase, license agreements, software development, commercial properties, commercial contracts, business contracts, agreements to sale, lease, and sale deeds. Specialize in drafting and vetting procurement contracts, intercompany agreements, supplier contracts, non-disclosure agreements (NDA), subcontractor agreements, licensing agreement and other complex commercial agreements with subcontractors and partners. Basic understanding to support global transactions, opinions on country participation agreements, cross border transactions. Provide legal review on employment-related agreements, develop standard templates, and support legal documentation. This role is extensively required to liaise with various internal stakeholders (business, finance, procurement, taxation teams) to ensure timely closure of agreements and advised them on contractual mandates and compliances. Provide strategic legal guidance and legal advice for employment (statutory) and legal matters to the human resources team in Hyderabad. Provide legal advice on social security Indian legislation and employment laws, including legal advice, guidance, and representation in areas such as discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination,advisory on wage and hour disputes, advice sought on employee benefits, and certain complex leaves of absence. Capability to develop policies and procedures (in collaboration with the Function owner) that align with the legal requirements and organizational goals. Provide legal and regulatory inputs on company policies and guidelines for Hyderabad. Keep abreast of new and evolving legislation and advise the business on its impact. Manage litigation to lead and coordinate with external legal counsel, as necessary. Co-ordinate, manage and onboard law firms/ external counsel, in consultation with the Director Legal (FEI), under group guidance. Respond to legal notices, official communications by regulatory authorities Provide legal advice on intellectual property management at FEI Support Director (FEI) Legal & Compliance to manageregulatory inspections, support on search of premises conducted to gather evidence for investigations, etc. Escalate legal risk to the Director (FEI) of Legal. Provide legal risk and mitigations on employment matters to the Director (FEI) - Legal.
