Director – Limerick Tax In Grant Thornton, we’ve experienced significant growth across all parts of the firm in recent years and our Limerick Tax team is certainly no different. Our Limerick Tax team works with a diverse range of clients including multinational companies, highly successful privately owned and family businesses, as well as high net worth individuals across the mid-west region and has experienced close to 100% growth in the last two years. What does the role involve: Quite simply, we’re about proactive, prudent but commercially pragmatic management of tax risk to our ensure our clients maintain compliance with legislation and Revenue guidance. You will work closely with the Tax Partner in driving further growth and helping the team achieve its objective of being the number one tax team in the region, whilst also having a large degree of autonomy to get the very best out of yourself and the team you work with and secure fulfilling career progression for you and all members of the team. Typical workstreams will include oversight of technical delivery on optimising group operating structures, supporting international expansion, M&A activity from both a pre and post-acquisition perspective, as well as participation in profile enhancing BD initiatives. The team’s culture is such that the majority of the team choose to work within the office for a reasonable proportion of the week. However, the team is empowered to choose where works best for them to be on a day-to-day basis. That being the case, hybrid working is most certainly supported within the team so that achieving a strong work life balance, whilst also building new and strengthening existing client and colleague relationships is possible. What we’re looking for in you: The Technical ITI qualified with 8+ years' experience in a large tax practice and a proven record of commitment to professional and client service excellence Ability to manage a portfolio of client assignments that are diverse in scope and scale whilst also proactively engaging with clients on new opportunities and risks arising from legislative updates relevant to their businesses Comfortable engaging with Revenue to robustly support client’s positions A strong desire to learn, but not just the tax technical. To learn about and understand clients businesses, their key pain points and ambitions and the part tax can play in clients achieving their commercial objectives.
