The Maintenance Manager is responsible for providing all who enter the building and all guests who stay with us with a secure comfortable environment by maintaining the hotel's assets. This is achieved through ongoing preventive maintenance programmes that ensure all mechanical systems are operating in accordance with all corporate policies and procedures, as well as within all legal and statutory requirements and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections of facilities and equipment on a regular basis, determine and prioritise required service; devise and conduct a routine of preventative maintenance. Ensure there is orderly direction of all phases of maintenance, repair or renovation.
- Take prompt corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensure compliance and adherence to all applicable laws and regulations by meeting with government, insurance or internal inspectors or auditors, and follow up as necessary.
- Communicate with all departments in relation to maintenance programmes.
- Ensure all mechanical, electrical, structural blueprints and diagrams are up to date, ensure retention of all manuals, references and other documentation in relation to the building and all equipment.
- Maintain logs and journals of all utilities, reviewing meter readings and regulating controls.
- Maintain a supply of necessary inventory, machinery, parts and equipment, and ensure these are purchased through approved suppliers and in a cost-effective manner.
- Develop and maintain relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, inspectors and colleagues.
- Ensure all potential and real health and safety hazards are reduced immediately.
- Full understanding of all health and safety procedures, including, but not limited to, fire, emergency and bomb procedures.
- Stimulate and encourage general awareness of health and safety in all activities.
- Continuously seek to improve the efficiency of all maintenance operations as well as your own job knowledge and functions.
- Ensure open communication with all team members, and attendance of meetings and training.
- Maintain a flexible work schedule as is necessary to ensure uninterrupted service to all hotel guests and stakeholders.
- Development of maintenance team members, ensuring they are trained correctly, and work schedules are appropriate to business requirements.
The Successful Candidate will have a minimum of one year’s experience, ideally in a hospitality setting. Candidates with the following training will have an advantage in this role: IOSH SHE, Safe Pass, Legionella Awareness, Electrical Safety, Facilities Maintenance Management, Plumbing and or Chemical Safety.
