Job Description About the role : Improve maintenance work force productivity and work quality by eliminating in advance potential delays, defects and obstacles through proper planning and coordination of maintenance activities, spare parts, machine time, craft and labor needs, safety measuresEffective and efficient planning and scheduling of all maintenance work, including CalibrationsLiaise and coordinate between the manufacturing/production operations teams and maintenance organizations How you will contribute: Plans, schedules, and coordinates maintenance and calibration activities in the plant in collaboration with operations and maintenance supervisorsEffectively prioritizes current and emerging work activitiesCreates & maintains effective work plans based on field reviews and expertise and parts assessmentsResponsible to ensure accurate and effective CMMS dataMonitors for problems and flow interrupters in the maintenance and calibration programs, and implements changes to lead performance and efficiency improvementReceives approved work requests from requesting departments, excepting emergency workReviews and screens each work request for completion. Discusses the details with the requestor as appropriateAssures the work requested is needed and resolves appropriatelyConverts Work Requests into Work OrdersExamines jobs to be done and determines best way to accomplish the work. Consults with requester, Maintenance Supervisor, Engineering or functional crews when necessaryObtains blueprints, drawings, instructional manuals and special procedures, as needed. Makes any additional sketches, diagrams, etc., necessary to clarify the intent of the work orderIdentifies and obtains determinable materials and critical items, entering material needs on the work orderEnsures safety needs are given a top priority in work planningEstimates jobs with sequence of steps, the number of tradespersons and required labor hours for each stepEstimates cost of each work order in terms of direct labor, materials required and total costMaintains backlog files of work orders waiting planning and/or scheduling in accordance with their priority limits with an estimated completion dateVerifies the availability of parts, materials and special tools required for job execution prior to schedulingIdentifies and generates each department’s Preventive Maintenance workloadReviews the schedule and labor availability forecasts weekly in preparation for the scheduling meetingAttends production planning meetings and negotiates for downtime “windows” during which maintenance can be performedFinalizes schedules, ensuring that the work scheduled balances labor hours available so that a full day’s work is provided each personCoordinates requisition of all predetermined parts, materials and special tools and ensures that equipment to be worked on will be available and readyReview completed schedules and work orders submitted.
