Project Manager – Structural Steel - New Ross

Overview We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in structural steel fabrication and installation to oversee the delivery of steelwork projects across Ireland. The successful candidate will manage projects from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring quality, safety, budget control, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Coordination
Plan, schedule, and manage all phases of structural steel projects.
Develop project programmes, resource plans, and risk assessments.
Coordinate with design teams, engineers, architects, and subcontractors. Technical & Construction Management
Review technical drawings, connection details, and fabrication models.
Liaise with the fabrication workshop to ensure materials, components, and assemblies meet project specifications.
Oversee site installation activities, ensuring compliance with method statements and lifting plans.
Monitor progress and resolve technical or construction-related issues promptly. Cost & Commercial Control
Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and financial forecasts.
Track variations, manage change orders, and support quantity surveying functions.
Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Quality, Health & Safety
Ensure compliance with Irish building regulations, CE marking requirements, and company QA/QC procedures.
Conduct regular site inspections and ensure all personnel follow health & safety standards.
Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks. Client & Stakeholder Management
Act as primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
Prepare and present progress reports and updates.
Manage client expectations and maintain positive relationships throughout the project lifecycle. Team Leadership
Lead project teams including site managers, engineers, and subcontractors.
Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Requirements Essential
5+ years’ experience managing structural steel projects in Ireland or the UK.
Strong understanding of steel fabrication, erection methods, and construction sequencing.
Proven ability to manage complex projects and multiple stakeholders.
Excellent knowledge of Irish construction regulations, BCAR, and health & safety standards.
Proficiency in MS Project, Auto CAD/ Tekla Viewer, and other relevant software.
Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills. Preferred
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
Experience with BIM and 3 D modelling workflows (Tekla Structures / Revit).
Chartered or working towards chartership (IEI / ICE).
Full, clean Irish driving licence.
