Inform3 Recruitment Quality Controller Sector: Civils Quality Assurance Engineer (Construction) Competitive Package negotiable dependent on experience To be an active advocate for the implementation of safe working practices across the Group building effective relationships with operational delivery teams in taking a partnership approach to dealing with HSEQ issues promptly to ensure a safe environment and minimising the impact to operational delivery. Ensure you have a good knowledge of HSE legislation and provide support and guidance to the organisation in fulfilling its obligations in this regard. Ensure appropriate operational controls are implemented and audited regularly to demonstrate a culture of safe working in the drive for Excellence. Undertake risk assessments, CMS checks and incident investigations as required highlighting lessons that can be learnt with implementation of corrective actions agreed with the operational delivery teams. What you’ll do • The maintenance and on-going development of the HSEQ framework ensuring process and policy documentation is concise, meets applicable legislative and contractual requirements and is kept up to date • Working collaboratively with the Operations Delivery team to ensure the completion of the targeted CMS checks (currently 1 per operative per month). Document issues identified and follow through on actions agreed to ensure issue remedied • Support the Learning & Development team with specialist training in relation to HSEQ for new and existing employees • Use HSEQ related data to identify trends and corrective action to be taken to positively impact overall safety performance and ensure HSE performance standards are consistently delivered i.e. reduction in accidents, near misses, strikes, HSEQ complaints etc • Positively represent the HSEQ function in dealings with colleagues, clients and other third parties ensuring all interactions are aligned to the company values and drive a supportive HSEQ culture • Work collaboratively with the operational delivery teams to ensure safety standards are implemented and maintained across directly employed staff in addition to sub-contractors • Update and maintain databases and client systems where appropriate ensuring accuracy and completeness of HSEQ related data • Share HSEQ related information with employees, sub-contractors and clients where applicable to drive a culture of continuous improvement. Encourage engagement in HSEQ through identification of better ways of working that ease operational delivery and enhances safety performance • Implement the HSEQ policies, standards and procedures in support of a safe working environment identifying opportunities to improve both policy and procedure for working smarter Key Skills • Calm, patient and assertive when needed to maintain HSEQ standards • Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills • Able to work in a fast paced, changing environment • Able to manage own workload, dealing with conflicting priorities to effectively meet deadlines • Able to give and take instruction, constructive feedback and maintain respect identifying action required in response to feedback given/received • Able to deal with conflict in a calm and controlled manner • Able to explain information simply and in a memorable way • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously • Proactive approach to resolving problems taking an objective approach to understanding lessons that can be learnt when things don’t go to plan • IT literate and capable of acquiring and applying detailed legal, technical and regulatory information • Confident public speaker, able to capture and hold attention of the audience • Ability to develop and deliver safety training courses as required Core Behavioral Competencies • Team Player • Stakeholder Management • Analytical in Decision Making • Customer Focus • Planning & Organising • Change Management • Effective Communication • Influencing & integrity Professional Qualifications / Training • Experience of working in civil engineering, telecommunication or associated industry • Minimum of NEBOSH construction certificate • Experience of HS&E standards in the UK • Working knowledge of OHSAS 18000 systems • Proven track record in safety management
