Job Overview: The Reliability Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the Ballina site delivers enhanced performance by reducing equipment breakdowns and optimising maintenance strategies. Reporting to the Maintenance Organisation, this position is essential in eliminating recurring issues and using advanced tools to sustain high-performance equipment. The role will involve close collaboration with the maintenance team and the wider network to drive continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: Data Analysis & Problem Solving: Leverage weekly and monthly line performance data to spot trends and identify root causes of equipment failures. Develop and implement solutions to eliminate recurring issues, ensuring timely execution with relevant departments. Benchmarking & Strategy Development: Utilise external maintenance benchmarks, such as AMIS, to assess the site’s strengths and weaknesses. Collaborate with maintenance management to devise and implement a strategy to address identified gaps. Coaching & Mentorship: Act as a coach and mentor to maintenance and manufacturing teams, enhancing site capability in reliability engineering. Cost Management: Assess site maintenance costs to pinpoint sources of financial waste and develop solutions to reduce costs effectively. Technical Expertise: Understand processes by evaluating technical data, literature, and working closely with Support functions. Lead the implementation of company Production System (HPS) tools, particularly in Preventive Maintenance (PM), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and Quick Changeover (QCO). Asset Management: Develop an asset operations plan to optimise utilisation and efficiency of production assets. Implement and maintain an asset maintenance plan, ensuring sustained maintenance effectiveness across all assets. Proactive Maintenance: Pilot a proactive maintenance approach by ensuring that Preventive and Predictive Maintenance tools, such as FMEA, are used effectively. Support the implementation of Operator Asset Care (OAC) to address performance issues early. CMMS & Systems Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert for the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), providing training and support as needed. Collaboration & Best Practices: Engage with the wider company network and other regional manufacturing sites to share and implement best practices. Lifecycle Asset Management: Adhere to Lifecycle Asset Management (LCAM) processes and conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to improve asset and equipment performance. Project Collaboration: Work closely with process and project engineering teams to ensure the reliability of new and modified installations. Occasional Supervisor Duties: Act as a back-up to the Maintenance Supervisor during holidays or absences.
