Beaufield Veterinary Centre has been providing veterinary services to the animals of north Kildare and west Dublin since January 1996. It has since expanded to become an extremely busy small animal practice and has received recognition from the Veterinary Council of Ireland as a registered Small Animal Practice. During recent years, it has been a registered centre for veterinary nurses training with both The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, London and University College, Dublin. A major extension and renovation of the premises provided BVC with a state-of-the art practice equipped with facilities to care for over 50 in-patients at any one time with dedicated Isolation units, Intensive Care units, Medical, Surgical and Anaesthetic Recovery units. We are a very friendly, professional practice where there is a huge emphasis on work/life balance, with an emphasis on mental health awareness, self-compassion, and resilience building We currently have a great team of 5 Vets, 4 Nurses, a Practice Manager and Support Staff. Support, mentoring and a commitment to CPD and further education are core values. Situated just west of Dublin city and well served by bus and rail for easy commute The Role Permanent, full-time role of 33-36 hours per week The main responsibilities include but are not limited to: In-patient care Surgical and dental nursing Laboratory diagnostics Nurse clinics Radiography Anaesthesia Occasional reception duties We want to make sure every member of staff has a great work/ life balance, so we are happy to be flexible with the rota to fit in with the applicant's lifestyle. The rota includes working a 4-day week (33-36 hours per week). The typical shift structure is 9-7 once a week, 9-8 twice a week and 9-3 once a week. There will be 1:3 Saturdays from 10:30-1:30. No out of hours. Salary is up to €34,000 commensurate with experience. Applicant Requirements We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse (experienced or new graduate) who is friendly, capable of working in a team, and committed to providing excellent nursing care to the animals while also being able to deal with the owners in a compassionate and empathetic way. The applicant should have: Experience of working in a small animal veterinary environment. Desire to apply the skills they learned during their training in practical ways, and in advancing their learning on the job, by learning from others in the team, and from CPD. Good communication skills and team player who is interested in using their education at a practical level every day, doing what they do best: nursing An interest in pursuing further learning and both personal and professional development in an environment where there is great support and always someone on hand to help when it is needed.
