The Role
As a Senior Solar & Renewable Energy Electrician, you will:
Lead installations, testing, commissioning, and handover of renewable energy systems
Work collaboratively with experienced project teams
Support and supervise junior electricians and apprentices
Maintain high installation standards
Take ownership of tasks, ensuring quality, safety, and client satisfaction
This is a hands‑on role suited to an electrician who already understands solar, batteries and modern electrical standards and wants a long‑term career path.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning
Install, test, and commission Solar PV systems in line with SEAI Code of Practice
Integrate string & hybrid inverters, batteries, diverters, EV chargers, and heat pumps electrically
Perform electrical upgrades on existing installations as needed
Conduct testing, inspection, and certification to IS 10101 and Safe Electric standards
Diagnose faults and support commissioning sign‑off as a QC / Qualified Certifier (QCBA)
Complete all related test sheets, certifications, photographs, and job documentation
Customer & Site Engagement
Deliver professional, clear system handovers to homeowners and site contacts
Explain system operation, protection, safety, and aftercare
Represent this company to the highest professional standard on-site
Team & Project Support
Provide feedback to project managers on site conditions, materials, and timelines
Participate in continuous improvement, quality and safety initiatives
Support, guide, and mentor apprentices and junior electricians
Opportunity to progress into Lead Installer / Supervisory roles
What We’re Looking For
Qualified Electrician (National Craft Certificate or equivalent)
Safe Electric registered (or eligible to register)
SEAI recognised Microgeneration Electrical Installations training (or willingness to complete – supported by company)
QC / Qualified Certifier for Electrical Testing & Verification (QCBA) – highly advantageous
Proven experience with Solar PV, battery storage systems, and EV chargers
Experience supervising or guiding junior/apprentice electricians
Comfortable working at heights with a safety‑focused attitude
Full, clean driving licence
Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with customers and team members
Leadership potential and strong team collaboration skills
