Senior Engineer (Flooding/River Modelling)

J. B. Barry and Partners currently require a Senior Flooding/River Modelling engineer who has excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. You will be a vital part of the team and will be helping contribute to the continued growth of J. B. Barry and Partners. You will be taking a lead role on projects and will be reporting to Associates, Associate Directors and Directors.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced flooding engineer. J. B. Barry and Partners is one of the Countries leading Civil Engineering Consultants, and has recently been acquired by the Egis Group. The J. B. Barry/Egis Group currently has over 16, employees, and is involved in some of the largest engineering projects in the world.

Job description

Capable of working under own initiative and being the point of contact with the Client.

Proven ability in delegating to design engineers and technicians, and providing support and guidance as necessary.

Capable of working within the J. B. Barry/Egis Quality Management System.

Management of projects within time,cost,quality constraints and standards.

Business development including the preparation of tender submissions.

Profile

7-10 years post-graduate experience with at least 5 in the Flooding/River Modelling discipline.

Honours degree qualified in Civil Engineering Field(QII Level 8 Minimum).

Experience in preparing Flood Risk Assessments.

Experience in Hydraulic modelling using HEC-RAS(1 D/2 D Models, RAS Mapper), and ideally Flood Modeller.

Strong understanding of hydrology, hydraulics and floodplain management principles.

Use of GIS Software and Data Management.

Chartered status or equivalent qualification is preferred.

Experience in preparing Section 50 Applications

Experience of using Civils 3 D to assist with analysis design and reporting.

Experience in Hydrological Flow Estimation Techniques favoured by the OPW.

Familiar with the OPWs FSU Web Portal.
