Cavan. We are currently seeking a Strategic Buyer for our client firm in Co. Cavan. We are seeking a person with 5+ years of experience working in a similar roles within regulated, complex and/or technical environments. The Role Our client is an Industry leader in Ireland, with material buying power in the region of being toward €100million per year. This role will report directly to the Supply Chain Manager and the Strategic Buyer role will be to oversee the best possible value for this spending. Additionally ensuring the most beneficial supply sourcing and security of that supply for the company. This would include the Strategic supplier relationships, additionally the contracts, performance reviews & improvement of supply base and innovation of materials. The Key Performance Index (KPI's) will include pricing against Indexes, security of supply and cost savings. ResponsibilitiesCreate, implement and maintain ESG supply chain governance structures and practices. Mange risk in regard to the volatility, geopolitical disruptions, material costs and logistics & potential cartels. Ensure the company achieves best price & value for all supply chain negotiations to include both commercial and contractual obligations. Maintain and improve the competitive global supply chain which provides for sustainable reductions of total cost. Integrate seamlessly into the purchasing and production process. Provide ongoing supply chain analysis to identify all new suppliers, market trends & data analysis to support the strategic buying decisions and identify further opportunity for improvement. Analyse the market research data to help develop strategies for product development. Develop a strong supply chain network to keep informed trends & development. Negotiate deals and selected preferred high-performing suppliers that meet cost, delivery, quality, technology & management objectives. Person Requirements:We are seeking a person with the following skillsets & work history. Degree qualified in a Business and/or Supply Chain. We are preferably seeking a global focus of Technically qualified person with an acute commercial acumen. Excellent communication skills. Including influencing and negotiation skills with a focus on drawing value for the company. 5+ years of experience with working as a buyer in a technical, regulated or complex industry. Commercial acumen. A global outlook and exposure to different challenges, cultures and ways of working. ERP Proficient with SAP experience is desired but not essential. Good planning/project management experience. An ability to travel if required at short notice. KPI:Cost SavingsContract & Risk ManagementSupply chain continuitySupply Chain analysisSupplier RelationshipsESG Scoring
