Title: Systems Engineer We are seeking a skilled and motivated Systems Engineer to support Edge Connex's global enterprise infrastructure. The candidate will play a critical role in deploying, managing and supporting our global virtual and physical server infrastructure, as well as assisting with the configuration and troubleshooting of our network infrastructure. This role requires a self-motivated & proactive individual with a strong technical background and excellent problem-solving skills.  This position is based onsite in Dublin at our Grange Castle data center, but can be flexible to one day per week remote.  This position could also require as much as 10-20% regionally within EMEA to support critical issues. Primary Responsibilities Deploy, configure, and maintain physical and virtual server environments (VMware ESXi, v SAN, and SAN). Monitor and optimize infrastructure performance to ensure reliability and high availability. Administer enterprise storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and v SAN environments. Troubleshoot and resolve issues across compute, storage, and networking systems. Perform routine maintenance, updates, and patching of systems to ensure security and stability. Manage and configure Cisco network switches in support of server and storage connectivity. Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot virtual machines and guest operating systems including Windows Server, Ubuntu, Cent OS, and Red Hat Linux.   Collaborate with the IT team to design and implement network solutions. Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT staff as it related to our enterprise networks. Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Provide day-to-day operational support of back-end infrastructure (physical, virtual compute and network) Assist in updating network design documentation and schematic diagrams Participate in on-call rotation, ensuring uptime of critical servers, networks, and applications.   Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to infrastructure management. Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team setting. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/responsibilities/tickets. Ability and willingness to create (project) documentation with diagrams to be used for cross-training purposes. Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to understand the long-term "big picture". Good technical writing skills and strong attention to details Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a technical related field. 3–6 years of professional experience in systems engineering or administration Strong hands-on experience with VMware v Sphere (ESXi, v Center) Foundation in SAN, NAS, and v SAN technologies Familiarity with scripting (Powershell, bash, etc.) 1+ years professional experience with Cisco switch configuration and troubleshooting. Proficiency in administering Windows and/or Linux server environments. Candidates who have worked inside a hyperscale data center are highly encouraged to apply  Candidates who possess VMware certifications (VCP or higher) are also highly encouraged to apply Candidates with experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions are also highly encouraged to apply Candidates who have Azure experience would really make a candidate stand out
