Sensors-based technology has a wide range of applications including navigation, gaming, smart user interface, multimedia, virtual reality, and augmented reality. This challenging position offers the opportunity to work with leading edge sensor technologies embedded in smartphones, automotive, IOT, smartwatches as well as other consumer electronics devices. The areas of focus are driver development, tools development, test development, software integration and product commercialization. The candidate should be familiar with C++ as its main programming language, ideally in new modern C++ standards (C++17/20) and needs to be familiar with unit testing and system testing using modern testing frameworks like Google Test. Responsibilities include the development of system applications and tools in C++, both internal and customer oriented. Principal duties & responsibilities include: Develop an implementation strategy that meets both system and customer requirements needed for the team. Maintain regular communication with key team members to ensure continued alignment between team deliverables and product execution plan. Willingness to work in a structured software development environment with ability to work on low-level implementation (code & test) Willingness to work in a high-caliber mixed firmware/software development team Reviews complex tests from more junior team members and completes own tests to ensure that bugs are fully understood and analysed. Writes, reviews, and edits own technical document in accordance with template and reviews and provides feedback on more junior engineers’ documentation. Writes technical documentation and provides technical expertise for design or project reviews and project meetings to ensure team's best interest is represented. Good English communication (written and verbal) and positive interpersonal skills The position is technology focused and involves participation in a broad range of sensors systems engineering activities within the Sensors Technologies group All Qualcomm employees are expected to actively support diversity on their teams, and in the Company What are we looking for? Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. 2+ years of software development experience in software applications and tools. Experience in Object Oriented Programming (OOP). Programming experience in C++ (Java is a plus). Programming in one interpreted language (Python, Perl, Ruby) Experience with version control systems (Git, Subversion, etc.) Experience with issue tracking tools (Jira, GitHub, etc.) Proficiency with relational databases and no-SQL databases (MongoDB).
