Lead Design Engineer - Wexford - Permanent Opportunity

We are partnering with a client who has an excellent opportunity for a Lead Design Engineer within the Wexford office, to become part of a Multi-Disciplinary team working on a variety of high-profile projects throughout Ireland and beyond. The post will offer the successful applicant an interesting, challenging and varied workload with the potential to develop into a team leader and progress further within the company.

Your role:
As a Lead Design Engineer you will be working within the Civil and Structural Engineering team whose Technical Services include the following:
• Support the development of Water and Wastewater Project scopes, initial budget estimate, and expected performance requirements
• Support the development of Water and Wastewater Project Briefs
• Provide technical assurance of concept designs, feasibility reports, optioneering reports and Whole Life Cost (WLC) estimates
• Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and standards in technical services delivery
• Provide environmental services to (Envirokit, AA, NIS, EIS, Invasive species surveys etc.)
• Support Water and Wastewater Preliminary Design services across the following disciplines – water and wastewater process engineering, M&E engineering I&CA engineering, Civil and Structural engineering, geotechnical, hydrogeology etc.
• Technical advisory and technical support in establishing the enduring capability – gap analysis risk management project analysis and portfolio management.

Project Management (technical) shall include the following non exhaustive list of services:
• Handover of Capital Projects – budget, schedule, programming and quality output
• Project Control including resourcing and service delivery, supervision and payments approval
• KPI Management
• Cost Management
• Manage delivery of design, technical assurance, QS services
• Manage production and approval of project handover plans
• Progress reporting, risk management
• Undertake PSDP Role (preparation of PHSP Plan DRAs, TMPs)
• 3rd party survey scoping and management (Hydrogeology, Hydrology, Ecological, Archaeological)
• Preparation of Communications strategy and documentation

• Hold an honours degree (level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications), or equivalent professional qualification, in engineering
• Have a minimum of 10 years’ post graduate relevant experience in Water or Waste Water Projects in one or more of the following disciplines Civil, Structural, Environmental, Process, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Automation & Control, Electrical or Geotechnical.
• Have an excellent knowledge and awareness of Health & Safety legislation and regulations.
• A strong knowledge of project management, methodologies and construction delivery best practice
• Strong technical knowledge of contract delivery and/or process design.
• The ability to set up ongoing procedures to collect and review information as needed.
